I have been so preoccupied with my 963 page book
(Anna Karenina) , that I haven't made many
Valentine's Day cards. :(
It's a good book.....but seriously....963 pages?
The movie is on DVD the 19th of this month.
I have 6 days to finish this book. I'm on page 368!!
Can I do it????? Time Will tell. :)
In the meantime....here's my Valentine's sign.
o...and note to my hubby...
Do not buy me any more BIG books
unless you are OK with......
dirty dishes, stacks of laundry, a frumpy wife, & cold meals. :)

I have been watching u tube videos on shading.
Very Entertaining!!!
Most of the videos use copic markers.
I defiantly am adding these "pricey" little tools to my wish list
However, I used Stampin' Up markers
and the results were pretty darn good. :)
See what you think.

#Bird-day Party, #birdcookies, #14th Birthday theme
Karleigh is officially 14!!!
Her party has come and gone...
and here is how the decor turned out.
I saw these cute little birds nest on pinterest.
They are so so easy to make.
just melt butterscotch chips, break up pretzels, & mix together.
Use your fingers to drop nest on wax paper.
Add malt eggs or marshmallows
on top. Then let them dry.
Its messy but so worth it. :)
I'm not a baker so I use my cricut to foof up a simple layered cake.
Not my best work. :(
It's so hard to ice chocolate cake and not get crumbs in icing.
I used a heart cookie cutter,
then cut it in half to make these birdie cookies.
This was my first attempt at iced sugar cookies.
Not bad if I say so myself.
But its way harder than it looks.
More party favors.
This little purse held chiclet gum
and a gift card.
This party was lots of fun to plan.
However, i have been dreaming about birds,
nest, cages, etc.
I needed it to be over.
Happy Bird-Day Karleigh!!!

The party planning continues.....
I sewed these cute little birdies using a tea dyed pillow case to save time and money.
The idea was not my own (pinterest)
I basically drew out a simple triangle with rounded edges
on a piece of paper for a pattern. You can make your birds any size
you choose. I sewed them leaving a small opening for stuff in'.
I then flicked them with brown paint and a toothbrush to give them an
aged look. Finally, I hot glued a felt beak, eyes, a cut bow and feathers on top.
This project took less than two hours to complete.
What's a Bird-Day party without a banner?
I have a Cricut machine that makes this project easy and fun.
( I used my Quarter Notes cartridge for the letters)

My daughter Karleigh is turning 14!
I spent hours and hours and hours on pinterest looking for the perfect theme for her party. And I found it!!! Yes it's different but it's clever and cute. And that's exactly what my 14 year old is looking for. So here is her invitation, one party favor, and a stampin sampler I made to decorate for her....
HAPPY BIRD- DAY PARTY!
Chicks only!
We will leave the nest and Flock to Katy Mills Mall,
Charming Charlie, and Ci Ci' s pizza.
We will Migrate back at approx. 6pm for Tweets.

This little envelope is filled with
Chick- o- Sticks!!

I came up with that all by myself.
(she says, while patting herself on the back) lol
My favorite Stampin' Up Demonstrator,
Penny Thomas
has been teaching us how to put together
stamping samplers.
It' s so much fun !
So I decided to make one for Karleigh's party.
I love the way it turned out. :)
Here's a little sign we made for decoration...
Have your Peeps call my Peeps.
I just love it
Here' s how it has come together so far.
I will post more after the party.
