The Cutest Ever Lightbulb Ornaments

Remember the story I told you about our Light bulb Christmas Ornament Tradition?  Well my Hubby really out did himself this time.  He just about sent me over the edge with that warm fuzzy kind of excitement that almost makes you sick.  It is really hard for me to sit back and watch him make all of these adorable one off a kind ornaments and send them out the front door.  They are just that darn cute that I wanna keep em' all.  Well I try and wait patiently for my one of a kind ornaments.  For heaven sake I know the painter "personally" so I should be first. Right?  lol  My turn came around this week.  He made me kitty cat ornaments that match all four of my Kitties.  OMG!!!! Crazy Cuteness. SEE FOR YOUR SELF.
This is Hershey.  Hes just a big ol' bear.  So gentle and Mellow.
But he doesn't like his picture taken with ornaments that look just like him. lol

Then there is Furgy.  Shes fisty.  Shes The Boss. End of Story.

This is my Chloe.
I love Her the most but don't tell the others.
Shes just my little princess.

Ol' Sal wondered up to the house about 6 months ago.  I wasn't gonna let him stay but my daughter named him.  He's a sweet heart.  He is willing to sleep outside while all the other cats are resting confortably indoors.  And Sal sleeps in a dog house.  How cute is that?  The girls painted a little dog house we had, and Sal really sleeps in it.  I have never seen that before so in my book hes a "special" cat.  :)
See...It does pay to be sleepin' w/the painter. lol

OK so here it goes.....
I will "TRY" and make a long story short, but no promises.

My hubby Warren, takes the ol' saying "one man's trash is another mans treasure" very seriously.
This is not something I am very proud of, but he likes to go out on what he calls "Big Trash Day" and look for "Goodies".  I know, I know, Embarrassing!!!!
Warren had a BBQ pit grave yard behind our house for the longest.  If he saw a BBQ pit on the side of the road, his plan was to bring it home so it could rest in piece with all the other dead, rusty, broken, run down, useless BBQ pits he has picked up over the years.  I know, I know, CRAZY!!!
O and ice chest are his favorite.  No exaggeration....We have at the least, 20 ice chest in our shed.  PEOPLE!!!! PLEASE!!!!  Tie your ice chest down in the back of your pick up trucks!!!!  Because when you loose it......my husband finds it, and it comes to live at my house.

Now, I have to admit he has sold some of his finds at our Garage Sales, and made some nice pocket change.  But, I live in fear that my neighbors will come see their stuff at my sale and our secret would be out.  I Know I know!!!  Hes Shameless.

So to get to the point of my story........
One night my hubby brought home something special from his night out on the town. (he only goes out at night, THANK GOODNESS!)  To my surprise, he stumbled upon a nice little piece of furniture.  Yes it did have a layer of burgundy paint two inches thick, and the top was no longer attached to its base, and it had hunter green polka dots on the trim.  Hello, the dots were not even uniform. lol  But this shelf had potential.  Sadly, I didn't think I would be telling this story so I didn't take a before pic. :(

But,  I have lots of afters.  Now i am not a painter.  For that matter....I'm not a sander either.  But I did sand and paint my new bright red, three tiered, slightly rustic shelf that my hubby rescued from its definite demise.  Hes such a Hero!!!!  And I have found myself asking my hubby,  Is today "Big Trash Day" dear?   I think we need more goodies. :)

Use your imagination.  The closest thing I have to a before photo of my shelf, are these legs.  The burgundy on the legs is what is left after I sanded as much as I could stand to sand.  I decided that the left behind paint would make the shelf look rustic.  and it did.

So here's my shelf after its first of many layers of RED paint.  I'm loving it!!!

More layers!!!!
 It's perfect!!!
I added 12X12 scrapbook paper on each shelf to serve as place mats
to break up the red and add POP!!!
I'm loving the POP!!

The finished shelf with my stuff on it.
Like it was meant to be. :)
To top off my shelf, I filled my new gum ball jar with Marshmallows and framed the saying "
Money can't buy you happiness, but it can buy you marshmallows.  And that's kind of the same thing.  HEHEHEH.  Thanks for my jar La Ray.  Who knows what I will fill it with next.

I found this cute idea in a magazine a year ago and never used it.  The original idea was a letter to Santa with a cookie mix instead of cookies.  I changed the wording and gave it as a birthday gift.

Lisa loved it and it only cost me $1.89 for the mix, $1.00 for the cookie cutter,  and $5.50 to mail.
I used scrap paper and ribbon I already had.

Here's what the poem said...
I made you a batch of cookies,
I ate just one or two.
I started feeling guilty,
because they were for you.
I went into a panic,
and ran right to the store.
I bought a brand new cookie mix'
so you could make some more!
Happy Birthday!

OMG!!! Have I got a cute idea for Halloween!!  OK so here is the story....
"The family" and I were having our decision on what we should dress up as for Halloween.
This is the way it typically goes....
* I always wanna have everyone dress in theme so we look cute together in our group photo.  ;)
*  The girls wanna be something cute or glamorous.
*  Mason wants to show off how skinny and manly he is. lol  I know this sounds strange but he dropped 45 pounds and he wants everyone to notice. lol  He will kill me for typing this.
*  Warren is all about the money so he wants cheap costumes.
Lots of ideas were tossed around like being a family of Gnomes. or Amish.
Well beings that we are a family of crazy cat lovers.....I suggested my hubby be the crazy cat lady and we all dress as cats.  They all went for it.

Every crazy cat lady needs a bag full of things for her feline friends...So that's were I started.  All the items were hot glued into the bag so they stay in place.  I made a big ball of yarn. I sewed a cute little mouse from an old pillow case I had that was white.  I painted the material gray after I sewed it together.   I'm not a seamstress so I'm loving that the little guy turned out so darn cute.  But my favorite is the Tootsie rolls dipped in cat littler and hot glued on the cat scoop.
Yuck!!!! But so funny. :)
I'm lovin' this idea and will post more as it comes together.

Back in 2005 a friend of mine invited me to a "party".  My first thought was...O No, not another party!!  I have all the bowls, kitchen chachkies, jewelry, bags and home decor I could possible ever need.(did you notice I didn't say make up?)  lol You can never have to much make up.
Anyway,  I went to the party, because that's what friends do.  It was a Stampin' Up party.  And to my surprise.....It was a fabulous party.  The perfect party for me.  There were stamps, and ink pads, and dodads, and markers, and buttons, and ribbons, and such.  HEAVEN!!!!!  And this is where I meet one of the sweetest, most sincere, most creative, most business savy women ever. Her name is Penny.  Since 2005 I have bought lots of stuff from Penny.  Sold lots of stuff with Penny.  I have stamped lots of stuff with Penny.  I have shared lots of laughter with Penny.  And cryed lots of tears with Penny.  But most importantly I have been blessed to have built a special friendship with Penny that I know will last a life time.  I love that Gal.

Penny created this beautiful Halloween Sampler at her Halloween Stamp Camp.  Just georgious!!

OK, so.....I know I have told this story before, but here it goes again...
About 10 years ago my sister-in-law gave me a snowman light bulb ornament.
I absolutely loved it and thought ...this is the most clever idea Ever.  I must come up with more ideas for  light bulb ornaments. (Just between you and me, I think I have a serious light bulb fetish.)  The next year my husband and I came up with the idea to make a reindeer.  Now I know there were other reindeer light bulb ornaments out there, but in my mind we came up with the very first one. lol  From that point on it became tradition to come up with a new ornament idea each Christmas.  So far we have made snowmen, reindeer, penguins, Santa, nutcrackers, candy corn, frogs, Grinch, a football fan, a nurse, smiley Face, M&M's, an angel, and Micky & Minnie Mouse.  I am tooting my own horn by saying we are ridiculously clever and creative with light bulbs. lol :)  Well my hubby didn't let me down this year, for sure.....   He came up with two crazy cute ornaments to add to our collection.  Wanna see??????

Told Ya!!!!! Aren't they the cutest???
We sale our ornaments for 7$ a piece.
If you would like to see all of our ornaments, go back to my January 4th 2012 post. :)

I saw this sunny little bucket on Pinterest and loved it.
A dear friend of mine lost her Mother to cancer and needs lots of sunshine right now.
I decided to make her a bucket and it definitely put a smile on her face. :)

My daughter and I went to the dollar store and had a blast gathering up everything Yellow.
We laughed at all the goofy things you could put in your bucket.
However, we decided on.......
Gum, lemon heads, fingernail polish, rubber ducks, a calculator, flashlight, wind up chatter teeth, body spray, and my favorite........ Socks.

I  recommend putting a basket together for your friend in need of a little sunshine!!!
I am not sure what was more fun...
Getting or giving?
Natasha we love you and are praying for you in this tough time.

I saw an amazing Halloween wreath on Pinterest.
Here is my attempt at it.
I didn't accomplish amazing, but I would say I hit cute enough. :)

My Grandmother had an old medical book and didn't know what to do with it.
I hope she doesn't want it back cuz it's now my perfect Witches Spell book.
However,  I'm anti-witch so I didn't have the nerve to write "Witches Spells" on the cover.
kinda funny. lol  ..........
Don't tell the cute little witchypoo on my buffet.  HeeeeHeeee...
We wouldn't want to offend her.

This is Savanna 8 years ago when she was 3.
I printed her photo in black and white so I could chalk
the pumpkin and her bow in orange to make it stand out.
I added the paper doodad I made with my cricut,
to the side of the frame to make her even cuter.
Shes not a scary witch.  Shes a cute witch.
I love my Punkin's
I painted three small canvases in purple and orange.
I then connected them with hinges. (just using glue dots)
I used my little monsters cricut cartridge to foof things up.
and walla...my master piece! 2 cute!!

Is it Fall Yet?

Is it Fall yet?
of course I know the answer to that.....
It's 93degrease outside and I'm sweating to death,
in doors, with the AC on 76 degrees.
Gosh Darn Texas Humidity!!!!
Well in my little "Happy Place" it's Fall all year long.

While in my Happy Place this week... I made, three Halloween cards, a fall cards,
a Birthday Card for a dear friend who turned 50,  and a little frame
for another friend who had a Birthday.  and they say I don't do anything
all day.. Whatever!!!!! :)

This fun card was made using a Stampin Up die cut.
My Stampin Up buddy (Penny) had a workshop and made this adorable card
for Christmas with elf boots instead.  Beings that its Fall for me all year around...
I turned it into witches boots.

This was a thank you card for my friend Michelle.
She gave me the perfect Birthday gift....
A box full of Halloween scrapin' stuff and a Hobby Lobby gift card.
I love that girl!!!!!
She real gets me. :)

I got a new Stamp Set and thought...
How can I turn it into a Halloween Card.
The set was called Aviary.
Not meant for Halloween, but they put a bat in this set.
Hello!!!! Bats are for Halloween. :)

This card is for my Step Mom Rorrie.
I am so grateful for her but I haven't said it out loud in a while.
Now is the time.
I'm grateful for you Rorrie. :)

My friend Jenny turned 50!!
We had a fabulous party for her and I made her this card
with 50 candles on it.  YES!!!
